Summary: A very typical traditional Peak District cottage with lots of character. Clean (unless you looked behind things) and as-described, however it felt a bit unloved. The front garden could have been really cute but was full of weeds and the back door couldn't be used because wildflowers had grown across it. Only 3 or 4 of each kitchen item provided - cutlery, plates etc - so lots of washing up needed but only one half-sized tea towel was provided. The 'house manual' was out of date on food options (the local pub doesn't serve it any more) and said it had leaflets of things to do but there weren't any. We just looked these up online of course, which was fine, but don't say something and not do it. Please also provide a reading light in the living room. The downstairs in general is quite dark and the soft wall lighting in the living room wasn't suitable for 'task' work or for reading a book on the sofa. Overall we had a pleasant stay, but a few small changes would have made it much better.
