Positive: The apartment was very clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The shower and bath worked properly. The kitchen appliances worked properly (mind you, the oven gets very hot, so adjust the temperature down or take out your food a bit before the recommended time to not burn it). The host is very friendly and present. We saw her in and around the building multiple times a day and she always informed if we needed anything. (Thank you for that!) Our boys loved the aquarium in the general entrance hall! Good to know for your grocery list: there’s a filter coffee maker, for which filters were provided. Other basics need to be brought: ground coffee, tea, cooking oil, herbs and spices, etc.
Negative: We needed outside space for our boys to play and run around, but the garden playground was not as shown in the photos (these were probably taken a few years ago). Now there’s a see-saw (which broke the week before our stay), a sandbox (which we don’t like to use in damp autumn weather), and a very high swing hanging from a tree branch. The playhouse in the picture is now a (not used) rabbit house, so not available to play in. And the playground slopes downwards towards a creek (no fence), so parents need to be on top of their (young) children at all times. If you prefer a more independent outside play space for your children: this is not it. Also, the photos of the vineyard that are in this ad’s gallery suggest that the apartment is beside or overlooking the vineyard, but I haven’t seen it. We were hoping to be closer to a somewhat green scenery, but it really is just a town street. This is not per se a negative aspect, but if outside space, a safe play ground and green scenery/ wine fields is what you seek, then it’s good to be aware of this before you book.
Summary: Clean, spacious, well-hosted, but not as rural/ green as we hoped.
