Positive: The villa is enormous. The highlight is the fabulous terrace with lounging area, fully-equipped kitchen (including fridge, freezer, and dishwasher), shaded dining area, and swimming pool. So you can cook, eat, and drink into the evening, in comfort and by the pool. It isn't overlooked, and as you chill by the pool you hear only the river flowing by at the bottom of the garden. It's delightful. The pool, at around 12m long, is also big enough to actually swim in. The villa is an old mill, and the walls are ~1m thick so the interior stays cool even when the temperature outside hits 40. And there is air conditioning inside anyway if you need it. The village centre is only a 5 minute walk, and has 4 or 5 restaurants and a bar.
Negative: Genuinely, there was nothing which we didn't like. The only mild annoyance is that there isn't a shop in town, nor even a boulangerie. But Carrefour is only a 5 minute drive, so it's not really much of an inconvenience.
Summary: Very large, very private, and very well thought out: perfect for a family and friends retreat.
