Positive: Great location with peaceful surroundings.
Negative: Here’s a slightly softer, fairer version that still makes the issues clear. Unfortunately, we did find the property lacking a little in cleanliness on arrival. There was quite a lot of dog hair on the kitchen floor and the floor itself felt quite dirty. I ended up wiping down several surfaces in the kitchen and lounge with my own antibacterial wipes, including the coffee table, fireplace, window ledges, bathroom surfaces and bedside tables, which did come up quite dirty. The hoover provided was already full and had a bit of a smell, so it wasn’t very pleasant to use. The double bed also appeared to have been repaired or glued, and one of the single beds was more like a camp bed. The bathroom door doesn’t fully close, which makes privacy a little difficult. We also found the cottage quite cool in the evenings. The heating is controlled remotely and seemed to be set around 18°C, which we personally found a little chilly for relaxing in the evening. By the time the cottage warmed through it was often close to bedtime. With a really thorough clean and a little attention to a few of these details, the property could be a lovely place to stay as it has a lot of potential.
