Summary: The highlight of the property is the view overlooking Pistoia where we spent many hours on the patio enjoying the beauty and serenity. On the other hand, we had a few surprises regarding the VRBO. The property listing does not indicate that the bedrooms are on a third floor accessed by a narrow spiral staircase. We would not have rented the property if we had known this as we are in our late 60's and getting our luggage up that stair was a challenge. Also, the mattresses and pillows were in extremely bad shape. The king bed sloped on both sides so much that it was very uncomfortable for two people and the twin beds weren't much better and definitely not fit for an adult. We had to layer blankets on top of the mattresses so they wouldn't be so hard. The last issue is the bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is off the entryway and kitchen (2 floors from the bedrooms) and only had a shower sticking out of the wall that was not enclosed. There was no place to put towels, toiletries, etc. in the bathroom to keep them dry. It was fine as a powder room but not as a second shower bathroom for guests. Please note that at the end of the road on the VRBO listing map you still have to drive another kilometer up a steep and winding narrow road which has 8 switchbacks to maneuver. We stayed at the VRBO for 4 weeks and adjusted to the quirkiness but found it to be charming and peaceful.
