The double entry doors to the villa can be hooked back and stay open as can the other three sets of double doors which open from the kitchen and a bedroom on either side. Thus the house is almost completely open to the wonderful ambiance of the rainforest. The privacy of the property is protected by an 8ft. wall. There are no mosquitoes or bugs to prevent enjoyment of the outdoors. This is thanks to the coqui, a small tree frog native to El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque has no poisonous snakes, no monkeys or any threatening mammals.

The Sierra Palms House is surrounded by the tropical vegetation of the rain forest. The sounds you hear are the sounds of nature: the rivers swirling over huge granite boulders, bird song, tree frogs, and rippling palm fronds. The night sky is lit only by moon and stars.
