Positive: The house is very comfortable and tidy and has a nice garden area with a view of the ocean. It is also in a convenient central location for the western part of the island, close to the main road with great access to the house itself.

Negative: The house was, surprisingly enough, very close to a newly built second house (from the same owners), without updating the photos or mentioning it. Bright (LED) flood lights are installed everywhere, ruining the night sky. Sadly, it shows the owners primarily focus on the Western-European way of comfort, style and luxury, instead of preserving the properties that make La Palma a unique destination in the world. Although you can disable them in your own house, the outdoor-lights of the new neighboring house were used daily, which makes the location unusable for any form of astronomy for the large part. This could be easily improved and with better (subtle and smart) lighting it would be a 10/10 house. Another surprise was how heavily the area is populated by barking guard dogs. They trigger each other and often bark non-stop at night.

Summary: A very comfortable house, but astronomers should look elsewhere!
