Positive: The site and its amenities were brilliant. The Lodge itself was very spacious, great kitchen and bathrooms. We didn't use the balcony area as it was cold and wet, but it would be amazing in good weather. We loved being able to park next to the lodge and being right next to the pub, pool and shop.
Negative: There was no welcome book with any instructions so we had no WiFi throughout our stay (we did message about this but got no reply). This was really disappointing as we had work to do. I had a cold shower as we didn't have any instructions about heating the water (my husband managed to work it out). The place had a funny dampish smell which was off putting. The bed in the master room was very uncomfortable and noisy when you moved. As instructed, I called once we left the property but no answer. I was also bombarded with loads of messages from Sykes Cottages after booking which was annoying. If these issues hadn't been there, I would have given this property 8/10.
