Relaxation is key at our peaceful Walker Park Getaway. Our recently remodeled home has water and mountain views, and salt water access just down the street. Our guesthouse overlooks a quiet neighborhood along the Hammersly Inlet. Neighbors are mostly friendly and many of them walk up and down the scenic road all throughout the day. Most will stop and chat when prompted. Our favorite thing to do is hang out on the porch and take in the scenery.
Walker Park is 0.3 mile away, with direct guest access to Hammersly Inlet. There is direct access the water with your boat, kayak, or paddleboard. You can go beachcombing, fishing, or spy the sea birds, seals, otters and even the occasional killer whales (orcas) in the water. Walker Park has guest parking, while doing your salt water activities. This park draws in visitors from all around Mason County, and beyond.
Shelton is among an abundance of recreational opportunities.Shelton is a historic old laid-back logging town that is the gateway to the Olympics. Many attractions are just a short drive away. Hood Canal, waterways, lakes, rivers and streams are abundant in this area. Hiking, boating, swimming, fishing, hunting and any other outdoor activity can be found nearby.
The neighborhood is quiet and private yet driveable to many attractions, including Walker & Kneeland Parks with playgrounds, the Mason County Historical Society Museum, and Taylor Shellfish Farm. Many grocery stores and convenience stores are close by car. For restaurants or groceries, our getaway is just 4 miles to downtown Shelton, 23 miles to Olympia, and 18 miles to Hw 101.
