Positive: The location was convenient to family, the location was beautiful and the house was very well stocked with kitchen items and extra blankets and towels which we appreciated. The house was also very clean and mostly well maintained. We rented this place for a small family get together and it was perfect for that. The beds were new and comfortable. The cupboard with games and books was a nice touch. I have a lot of allergies and the house was nice and had no scent from cleaning products. We would stay there again.
Negative: When we arrived the entire house was cold and the heat wasn't working. After trying to get the thermostat to work we attempted to call the management company and we eventually sort of got it working. However the next day when it once again wasn't working we called and the customer service told us that the unit didn't have central heat and that we should drive to the store to get wood for the fireplace. After insisting on speaking with a supervisor we finally got ahold of someone who could help us but we were not able to control the heat ourselves, the management company controls the heat and it kept going into "eco" mode and dropping the house temperature. The instructions for the thermostat need to be printed and left with all of other instructions or even next to the thermostat itself. We stayed here in the winter and it was ridiculous that the heat was controlled by someone or a system not in the area. On another note there was no outside light and it was really too dark to walk to the car to the door at night.
Summary: Nice, clean, spacious place to stay but management company needs to fix the heating issues.
