The Neighborhood:
Mission Hills is a historic neighborhood in San Diego located on the hills overlooking Old Town and the San Diego Bay, just north of Downtown, west of Hillcrest and south of the San Diego River valley. It is one of San Diego’s oldest and most desirable neighborhoods. The area is primarily residential with some locally-owned shops and restaurants. It is one of the most architecturally impressive neighborhoods with many of the houses from the early 1900s, which have been carefully preserved and restored. Modern homes were built as infill along canyon rims in the 1950s and 1960s. 🏘️
Mission Hills is highly sought after with its stately homes, its centric location overlooking San Diego's picturesque bays and beaches, and quaint Craftsman bungalows and large mansions pristinely manicured on quiet streets. The business district is home to a variety of delectable restaurants, locally-owned shops, pubs and services. 🌆

Summary: We were a group of twelve (8 high school senior girls and 4 moms) traveling for spring break and rented the upstairs and downstairs units together. This was perfect for our group; our daughters loved that the bunk room with 4 queen-sized beds meant they didn't have to split up, and the 3 additional bedrooms left plenty of room for the rest of us. It was great having multiples of everything; 2 kitchens, 2 living spaces, 2 hot tubs, 2 laundry rooms, 4 bathrooms, etc. And the bathroom adjacent to the bunk room actually functioned as 2 bathrooms on its own, as it had 2 separate private showers and double sinks. Both units were very clean and organized, and well-stocked with dishes, cookware, towels, etc.One thing we didn't realize until we were there was how great the location actually was. Everything we did in the city was only 10-20 minutes away (including Coronado), and our treks up north were super easy from there as well (10-25 minutes to La Jolla, Torrey Pines, Solana Beach, etc). The easy walkability to Old Town was an added bonus; we walked there for ice cream one evening and dinner and a ghost tour another. And if you're like me and love a local coffeeshop more than making your own at home, there's a great little coffee stand only 5 minutes walk away :)Adam and Lulu were very prompt and responsive with communication. We had one issue with a lock that broke; they provided an immediate solution for a work-around (at midnight!) and had the lock replaced the next day.
