Positive: What a fabulous and quirky place to stay. We were greeted by the owner's daughter who told us all about how she had built the floating house with her dad, all by hand. She was so lovely and just has the best smile - we immediately felt welcome and at home. Every little thing has been so well thought out - it's amazing how much they have packed into a small space - everything you need for a short stay. The location is absolutely brilliant - excellent microbrewery right 'next door' and a short walk into the centre of the very interesting town. We loved hanging out on the deck and watching the boats go by. Really peaceful in the morning and afternoon. It was very 'lively' in the neighbourhood on Friday night in particular, and quite a bit of noise from the brewery on Saturday night, but definitely not enough to disturb us - it was great to feel part of the city as well as being so close to nature (a coot nest right beside us, and visiting ducklings).
Negative: The beds are not the most comfortable we have ever slept in, it has to be said, but they were absolutely fine as a place to lay our heads for a couple of nights. Everything else was so wonderful that it more than made up for that. You do need to be quite agile to get in and out of bed, though, so be prepared!
