Positive: The Good: Is there ever perfection, not really, and while the exterior looks really nice, it’s facing the back of some buildings and no man’s land to the left! BUT, and a really BIG BUT! The interior, is totally almost perfect! This is a HOME! forget about the massive restrictions, the many warnings & labels posted everywhere, (and I can imagine for very good reasons) this place is fantastic! Not just the spacious interior, it’s been designed by someone who not only knows what they were doing, but the detailing is mind boggling! There are three double bedrooms one stair up, each fully furnished with TV, make up table, it’s all there, but if you need to run to the toilet, you gotta walk down, and then there are three of them! The living room is spacious and comfy, dining table adequate, plenty of chairs and stools, all adjacent to a neat Tatami room, which can be kept open or closed! Wife was so impressed she made it her bedroom! Super large TV, consoles for kids to use, even the car style video attachment etc etc! But the Kitchen! Would have been 💯 pointer wasn’t it for the dreary gas hob, the only thing to object! But the rest? I have never seen such a perfect equipped kitchen space, incredible topped by a fridge that opens both ways, plus everything was so neatly organised! A full pantry with many choices of sauces & condiments! Incredible! Just a pity this place was not adjacent to the actual lake Toya! Else I could honestly say, I have not seen better in the many years of travel, and I have seen a lot!
Negative: The Blaubaum Toya Our third stay in Hokkaido, primarily for the lake excursion, although this property is closer to the Bay! Getting there: Interesting location in some back road, the address listed when click on Google link, shows some random Shack, no joke, putting in the postal code, we ended up at someone else’s home, you should have seen their faces! Third attempt finally got it! The Owner/Operator should really pay attention, unless of course they love people getting lost! 🤪 The Challenging; Virtually zero flexibility by the owner/operator, as our 3rd stay (and only 3 nights) I arrived 2.15 pm, asked for earlier entry, got the standard bla bla Message, not possible. Cleaning still going on! Rubbish. When we first drove by, around 11.30, it looked precisely the same! Anyways, we opened the door at 2.30, expecting to go to jail but all good! The rules & regulations, look more like an Army Camps Drill directive, you even scared to breath! Also a good reading is the binding contract which was nicely hidden inside booking.com’s detail! I made JPEGs have fun reading it! Worse than a multi billion dollar agreement with some corporations! Ok, I get it, some renters just do not know how to behave, even how to leave properly! But hey, don’t put the premier potatoes into the same bag as the rotten ones! We are property owners, we know how to take care, goodness!
