Summary: Good hotel, comfy room, friendly helpful staff. However, I booked through hotels.com they wouldn't give me a receipt because I hadn't booked with them direct. Strange because I get a receipt everywhere else I book with hotels.com. My credit card statement shows that The Barnstaple Hotel had taken the money too! Just be aware if you are on a business trip and need a receipt for your expenses.
