The Forest Experience is a newly designed platform tent campsite, immersed in the forest mountainside. Our site is for individuals seeking a private and comfortable glamping camp experience and/or booking with the Hillside Lodge for additional family/friend accomodations. Visit nearby towns of Ellenville and Mountaindale for cute shops and restaurants. Minnewaska state park, Sams point, Minnewaska Lake and Awosting lake within 20 mins. A "locals only" swim hole just 7 min drive. Directions provided upon booking.
Park in your private parking spot (for 1 car) and walk 5 mins (or approximately 200 yards) through a large field and forest path to your little oasis in the woods.

The goal at Retreat East Co is to make it simple to explore and promote healing in a rustic nature setting. We provide everything you need at the site. While there isn't any running water, we will include water jug from well or feel free to bring your own.
Hiking is permitted, free flowing access to rustic natural grounds with newly cleared access road for hiking on the land. Guests are encouraged to partake in local area attractions and renowned hiking trails at Minnewaska State Park within 20 min drive.

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!
Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs.
Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation.
Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.
Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.
Other Things to Note:
While the site is completely secluded, the driveway entry is shared with the Hillside Lodge guests, a mid-century cabin on the other side of the hill so please be respectful of other guests.
We supply an all terrain wagon to transport your belongings.
The site is mostly level however the 105 acre property is across and up a mountain that gets pretty steep at the top. Guests are welcome to walk to the top, however please note we have neighbors so it is important to follow the site map for where the walk is allowed.
Please be aware of any fire bans in effect and take great care with fire safety.
Please be mindful of your dog and be aware of the local wildlife. We recommend keeping your dog on leash.
Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.
If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable).
