The 4000+ square foot main house appears unassuming once you've driven up the long driveway, sided by mature pines. But when you've come closer you will see it's anything but ordinary. Enter into the ground floor's stone, hand hewn wood and plaster entry that is both impressive and comfortable, with distinctive and dramatic fixtures and a patterned brick floor in a long, earthy room with a reading nook. Discrete and tasteful, from this entry you will find doors leading to a half bath, laundry room, the gym/ yoga studio, the double attached garage, a cedar shelved wine room and an expansive second pantry. Two staircases lead up to the main level; one to a wonderful private office with lovely mountain views and a door out to the pool, and the other leads to the main living area. Here you will find a large sunny landing and a great room, with an inviting seating area, fireplace and long wooden dining table. The 18th century hand hewn barn wood continues in the beams, the ceiling and throughout the house. The floor is of Italian limestone, imported for this home. There is an amazing view of Mohonk Tower and the Shawangunk Mountains through a west facing wall of windows and double glass doors. These doors lead to a very large outdoor patio area, with a built-in barbecue grill and fridge, swimming pool and hot tub. There is also a huge, marble-countered gourmet kitchen, a half bath and a well-appointed master suite, with another fireplace and a beautiful bathroom with jacuzzi and walk in closets on this level. On the third floor, there are three more bedrooms, more spectacular views, a powder room, a full bath and a sitting/ lounge/ TV area. And then there is a lovely 1300 square foot guest house. Two bedrooms, full bath, full kitchen, lounge area, living room with seating area. Glass doors that open out into the yard and more gorgeous views. The guest house has its own washer and dryer. This is a stunning, opulent home, but at the same time, it's warm, inviting and comfortable.
