Our lovingly cared for 1974 Airstream Land Yacht trailer blends original fixtures with comfortable modern updates. Parked in a wooded area of our 5.5 acre property, you’ll enjoy a peaceful retreat within one mile of Jester King Brewery and close to many wineries and 15+ wedding venues.
A covered patio and outdoor sitting area are provided for your exclusive use. Shaded by Texas Live Oak trees and located in a dark sky community you can escape from the world only 19 miles from Downtown Austin!
Space
Your private Airstream trailer is parked in a wooded area making it feel like it's miles away from everyday life. The Airstream has been outfitted with many modern day conveniences for an updated retro experience. Upon entering your trailer you'll find: -- The living space features a comfortable couch which can convert to a small bed, flat-screen TV and blu-ray DVD player. -- The kitchenette comes complete with sink, microwave, perk pot (coffee maker) and refrigerator with freezer. We have also stocked it with dishes and basic cooking tools such as a cutting board, knives, can opener, serving utensils, etc. If you find you are in need of something not included, we are happy to provide it, if possible. -- The bedroom features a full-size bed, wardrobe/clothing storage and small desk. -- Your light-filled bathroom includes a stand-up shower, plush towels and full length mirror. Your outdoor living space compliments your trailer with the following areas: -- Your covered deck provides a lovely outdoor dining and relaxing space. You'll find a two person patio set and comfortable hammock chairs available for your use. -- Your private patio features an outdoor sitting area in a wooded area.
Guest access
You will be provided with a key to your private Airstream upon arrival and you can come and go as you like. You will have exclusive use of the entire Airstream, porch and outdoor patio during your stay. We share 5.5 acres with others so we do ask that you respect everyone's privacy and use only the designated communal spaces (outside of your personal space) and refrain from entering the house or any outlying buildings. We do have a playground down a short path from the trailer that is available for children to use with parent supervision. We sometimes sit around the fire outside and welcome you to join and the chickens always welcome visitors to their coop. Our home has a very long driveway with plenty of parking available.
Neighborhood overview
We are five minutes away from Jester King Brewery, Treaty Oak Distillery, Solaro Estate Winery and several small distilling companies. We are also just down the road from Wild Rose Hall and Addison Grove wedding venues and there are many more within a 15 mile radius. Cyclists, car clubs, motorcycles and road trippers can all be found enjoying scenic Fitzhugh Road each weekend and many weekdays. We are located about five miles down from 290 which is a great place to start your ride or drive all the way to Johnson City. We are about a 15 minute drive from both Dripping Springs and Bee Cave. In each town, you will find grocery stores, restaurants, shops and more. Each place has it's own unique feel and offer different venues so you'll have your choice of where to visit.
Getting around
There is no public transportation so you will need your own vehicle. Dripping Springs is the Gateway to the Hill Country and very popular with cyclists and motorcycle riders. Bike rentals are available from Southwest CycleSports (17min away) Motorcycle rentals are available from Cowboy Harley Davidson in Austin (23 min away).
Other things to note
While we are convenient to many area attractions, we are not able to secure high speed internet so we are unable to provide a wireless connection. Most carriers work well so you should be able to get a good connection using your phone or hotspot. We do have two cats on the property that roam freely and chickens.
