Whistle-Pig Holler is a beautiful "Honest Abe" log cabin built in 2008 with a large front porch filled with rocking chairs and just steps away from a babbling creek that will lull you to sleep. This property sits on about 2 acres of cleared land, just far enough away from the beaten path for peace and quiet, but not so far that you feel too remote and out of touch with the world. The front porch has clear views of open sky and rolling hills of the pastural countryside. The cabin has easy access with no steep mountain roads to travel. You can hear the occasional cow bellow in the late evenings.
This 3 bedroom 1 bath cabin has all hardwood floors and a vaulted ceiling in the living areas. There are two bedrooms on the ground level. The first bedroom has ample storage and features a queen size bed. The second bedroom sleeps three with a 3-tiered bunkbed. The third bedroom upstairs has a queen sized bed. The living room has a large, comfortable leather sofa for extra sleeping accommodations. The bathroom on ground level has a bathtub and shower combo with endless hot water. The cozy living room features a large flatscreen TV with Hulu & Netflix so you can get caught up on your favorite shows or binge watch a new series. Also, high speed wireless internet is available. Sadly, if you find you cannot completely get away from work (we know the feeling), there is a small built-in work desk upstairs that provides a location for focus but still allows you to be part of the action.
This cabin is beautifully decorated with work from a local artist sprinkled about. It boasts a fully equipped kitchen that will allow you to cook gourmet meals or grill your favorite steak on the outdoor grill – gas or charcoal. We find the fire pit is a big focal point for conversation, reconnecting, and enjoy family time while making your favorite campfire food!
Whistle-Pig Holler cabin is perfect for slowing down and decompressing, but still has the amenities you need to stay connected for work and play. The famous Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus, VA is approximately 12 miles from the cabin, Doe Mountain Recreation Area in Mtn. City, TN is approximately 5 miles, and Boone, NC is approximately 24 miles, making this property the perfect location to access fun in 3 different states!
