Positive: The house is very warm and welcoming. When you arrive you feel at home right away. The kitchen is a great place to meet fellow guests and have a chat. The bedrooms are spacious and bright and spotless. A great plus for us was that we could bring our dog and she felt at home as well greeting everyone as if it were her own place. There is a lovely garden space at the back with plenty of seats and a shed to protect you from the elements. There are great walks nearby, long or short whatever suits your needs. It is only a short stroll to pubs and some eateries. Last but not least the host Ross is very friendly and always ready to help. Abbeyleix seems to have a great community spirit and the locals enjoy a chat. We stayed an extra day and were sorry to leave. But we will be back.
