5 Bedroom House with Balcony, Internet and Bedding

Stunning views of lake laura. Perfect home for your family to enjoy peace and relaxation. The home overlooks Lake Laura and across the lake is the 10th tee of the royal golf course. The Royal grill (great food) is within walking or kayaking distance. The lake is a no wake and only electric motors. There are 5 kayaks and 2 paddle boats for use. The house has everything that you could want to make your vacation effortless all you really need is your clothing, ice, and charcoal. If you are looking for the True "up north" retreat look no further. There is a Professional poker set for chips. wifi and cable. 2 living rooms, This Is close to the Castle at Canadian Lakes if wedding guests need a place to stay. In the Garage is a table for the gentlemen or ladies that would like to enjoy a cigar and some Texas Hold just leave the garage door open. There is seating for 25 outside and a fire pit and grill. I set this house up exactly how I would want for when my family gets together and cannot wait to share it with you. The master has a closet that is about 10x10 and makes a great spot for mothers with small children who are close by in the pack and play. Nearby is St Ives golf course at Tullymore and Tullymore golf course. I provide adult life jackets only. Fires must be attended at all times and only wood-burning per ordinance. This is a residential area and please be respectful of neighbors. This is such a special place and when we are there we never want to leave.

Summary: This property is ideally situated adjacent to Lake Laura with wonderful views, a laid back, lake side vibe, convenient access to a well stocked grocery store and to the amenities of Canadian Lakes. However, the property has only 4 bedrooms not 5 as advertised. The fourth bedroom is effectively the whole of the upper story of the house which - yes - has two "sleeping areas" but these are within full sight and sound of each other and should not be described as two separate bedrooms because they simply are not. We were a family of 9 adults - four couples and our 25 year old son - and so 5 bedrooms was an essential requirement for us. By unhappy chance, one couple could not join us due to illness at the last minute so we had sufficient rooms. If they had been with us, someone would have been sleeping on the couch in the main living room. Secondly, the house was not as clean as we would have expected. It is very clearly a family holiday home which is let - as opposed to a dedicated let. We have seen this before - the level of cleanliness and state of repair differs markedly. In this case a dirty oven, sticky residue on kitchen cupboards; a large clump of hair in the drain of the shower in the master bedroom; a dishwasher which had its top rack out of use because it hasn't been replaced; leather furniture with torn seats and a patio door handle which continually fell off for want of the proper screw. Finally, the tone of the owner's instruction booklet is little short of intimidating: dire threats of being charged if furniture is moved or if windows are opened, and further warnings about failing to meet the trash regulations - which were almost incomprehensible and as the house has no trash collection provided we found ourselves checking out on a day when the municipal trash facility was closed so we had to drive with full trash bags in the car until we could find a dumpster. In short - a fabulous location which we greatly enjoyed but the shortcomings listed above took the gloss off the experience a little for us.
