Positive: This is a charming, rustic little artist's shack separated into two buildings - one for sleeping, one for 'living'. It sits right on the marsh, many bird sightings, high tide literally runs under the house and decks. Close to the beach parking lots, surrounding by wildlife refuge. Small but functional bathroom with plenty of hot water. (Note: parking is nearby, off site but that didn't bother me).
Negative: The place was not clean. Dishes, pans and utensils were dirty, refrigerator, table were not clean. We had to wash everything. The TV did not work, the gas grill was rusted and unusable. The lights in the main area burned out the first night - literally smoking from the switch. The property manager did arrange for TV service, (7 am Sunday!), temporary lamps, bought a new grill (which we assembled), and arranged an electrician to eventually repair the lights. And while all this was helpful, it cost us time (and stress)from our vacation. The 2 futons which serve as couches and for extra sleep space are ancient and nearly flat. Bring your own blankets and pillows. Ants, mouse droppings... we should have been offered some kind of refund.
Summary: With some repairs/upkeep and a VERY deep cleaning this place would be a delightful retreat.
