Summary: We had a rental booked with a different company & the owner canceled our reservation on very short notice. We lucked into John's place, which was closer to the ocean than the other place plus has 2 free bikes to use (1 helmet) and laundry (coin-op) on site. John was responsive to a question I had during the stay. We appreciated the large icepacks for our cooler on the beach. There is no TV & we preferred not having one. We went to a nearby Von's for aluminum foil and olive oil during the stay, and we missed having a toaster and a larger skillet for eggs in the morning. I like flipping through & signing guestbooks when we stay at a rental and I didn't see a guestbook to sign. There is no beach equipment (chairs, umbrella, bodyboards, etc.) available but we had our own and our bike helmets. Overall, the proximity to the beach is what we were looking for as well as a parking spot, and the place has both. Neighborhood was quiet at night. Beds are very comfortable. Only the bigger bedroom has space for a yoga mat. Very very close to beach and quick access to freeways. We enjoyed the place and feel very fortunate to have found it on short notice.
