Positive: I recently stayed at the Cambridge guesthouse for a two-night family wedding trip, booking four rooms for six people. Would I book again? Possibly, but I'd research elsewhere as well. On arrival, the check-in process was smooth and straightforward. The rooms were clean, and the photos online were an accurate representation of the space. While a few shower heads were loose, they were still usable. The beds were comfortable enough for a short stay, and being able to open the windows was a nice touch for temperature control. The property itself was quiet and spacious, which was a definite plus.
Negative: However, the stay was not without its issues. The most significant problem was a series of fire alarm errors on Sunday morning, first at 9:40 AM and again at 10:30 AM, each lasting about 30 minutes. While these things happen, it was a major disruption to a relaxing morning. The breakfast experience was also a bit confusing and inconsistent. On Saturday, we were served a fried breakfast, but it was unclear that scrambled eggs were available for those who didn't want the fried meal. Sunday's breakfast was a different story entirely. The service was brisk and felt impersonal, and we felt like we were intruding rather than being welcomed. It was hard to figure out what was on offer, and the interaction with the staff was a bit awkward.
