Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Location, compared to the larger villages and in the Cotswolds, Northleach was more peaceful in terms of crowds.

Negative: If you’re a light sleeper the church bells sound as a clock and will ring through the night. Door lock was a pain to use, the door seems to need fitting and the mechanism needs lubrication. It would be nice if there were instructions how to lock/unlock the door. My son called me in exasperation that he could not figure out the door- it took me a while to figure it out. We stayed when there was an unseasonable heatwave. There are no fans in the property to provide a modicum of relief. The temperature was stifling inside. I laid a blanket on the bottom floor and rested there as it was the coolest part of the house.

Summary: A less crowded village.
