Summary: I am a frequent hirer of holiday lets and chose this venue for a women's weekend because it was advertised as a large luxury space. Money was taken for the booking but I was charged much more than I was expecting. I contacted the host to see if I could receive some money back for a booking of only 10 but this wasn't granted. So I invited some additional women to attend for the day. This was later queried by the host when I asked about parking as if we hadn’t had the first conversation. Not enough parking for the ladies who were staying. Check in time wasn't the same as what was advertised originally, although the host did accommodate what I needed eventually. Air con was advertised but in fact, this was only in some of the bedrooms. The kitchen had enough crockery/cutlery but there were certain basics missing such as saucepans - only one small and one large. There was a bag of rubbish (nappy and rotting food) stashed in one of the kitchen cupboards. No hand towels in toilets, no bath mats in all showers, and the towels provided were only nice in the double/king rooms. Light fittings hanging off in some of the bedrooms. Tiles fallen off. Fans didn’t work (host did sort them). Attic area closed for renovations. Bed allocations werent as arranged. Dog toys and rubbish under the sofas. Broken window in kitchen. No fire plan. Front door locked. The pool, King Suite and basement were excellent so if you are looking for a small group venue then this will be a better experience.
