The space
Situated at an elevation of 2,400 feet, Mauna Skea enjoys cool breezes and vivid sunsets. Close to terrific hiking, boating and swimming.
The master bedroom boasts a new and super comfy W-Hotel king bed with an en-suite full bath and private deck with expansive mountain views and simply stunning sunsets. The handcrafted post & beam structure is fully exposed, warm and inviting, hand crafted from New Hampshire hemlock beams. A full closet, lovely Ethan Allen armoire and chest of drawers await your belongings. The AppleTV is ready to go and connected to a Samsung TV.
The second bedroom on top floor includes a new bunk bed from a Restoration Hardware, featuring a twin bed over a full bed with easy to use ladder. Each bed is brand new, super comfy and perfect for kids.
The third bedroom loft on the top floor includes three skylights and plenty of character. The full bed is lovely, and again super comfy. The room features a closet and cedar armoire.
Moving to the main floor, you’ll enjoy open-concept living, with the kitchen flowing to the dining area and living room. Again, the post & beam structure is fully visible - hand-crafted, warm, inviting and full of detail. Just think, the entire frame and structure was built with only wood. No screws or nails in the frame, hewing to traditional craftsmanship.
In the full-featured kitchen, there’s a gas range, side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and a microwave.
We’ve tried our best to accommodate your every kitchen need, including a Ninja coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, sharp set of knives, place settings for 10 or more, a Soda-Stream sparkling water maker, waffle-maker and fondue pot. Along with all the normal pots and pans you’d expect.
Just outside the kitchen on the main deck is a Ducane gas grill, ready for your burgers, veggies, fish or filet-mignon.
