The Longtown Lookout is in a rural community. The grass yard that is shared with the 'Lil Lookout (the efficiency cottage on the same property). Nature is all around, that's why you're coming to the lake, right? You could encounter any variety non/poisonous biting and crawling/flying insects, small-large wildlife, and varieties of plant life. Please use caution when exploring the natural world. No refunds will be given for the intrusion of pests, insects, or wildlife during a guests’ occupancy.
The home is treated for pests quarterly. The lawn is mowed every two weeks in the spring & summer, weather permitting.
The Longtown Lookout shares two trash cans with the 'Lil Lookout (efficiency cottage on the same property). The trash is picked up every Tuesday; please roll the bins down to the street for pick-up. There is no recycling service in this community.
All guests will follow the Good Neighbor Agreement:

✔️ Not tamper, disable, block or remove the two Ring video doorbells. The Ring is located at the front/entry door of each home and points toward the sidewalk, porch, landing, front yard and driveway. The Ring is a motion sensitive recording device and operational 24/7/365. The host has access to the camera and the video recordings at all times via the Ring app. There are no cameras inside the home.

Longtown is a sleepy, lakeside community with paved & gravel streets. Luckily for you, these homes are off a paved street! The street dead ends at the lake (technically, you can turn left or right, but if you go off road and go straight, you'll get wet!). There is only one lot separating The Longtown Lookout & 'Lil Lookout from gorgeous lake views. The neighbors are life long residents who call Longtown their home. Neighbors grow summer gardens. Families spend the evenings playing outside. Locals drive their golf carts on the streets.
The entire home and adjoining garage is yours to enjoy during the length of your stay, except for the fireplace, attic and/or crawl space. The stand alone garage (between the homes) is off-limits to all guests.
*The fireplace is ENTIRELY off limits. The fireplace is NOT FUNCTIONAL. Attempts to use the fireplace is a safety hazard. Guests who attempt to use the fireplace will be asked to leave, without a refund.*
Please take care while driving in/out of the garage; guests are liable for all damages. Vehicles impacted by the recent Hyundai safety recall (NHTSA ID: 23V-651000) and Kia's safety recall (NHTSA ID: 23V-652000) are prohibited from parking in the garage or driveway for safety reasons. Search the NHTSA IDs for vehicles impacted by the recalls.
To open the garage door, you will have to go inside the house, and push the remote/button located in the house. Loss or damaged garage remotes will result in a $100 replacement fee.
THE PROPERTY:
This listing is for a 3 bedroom/2 bath ranch style home that shares the property with the 'Lil Lookout cottage (1 bed/1 bath). Both homes share some of the same driveway space, the shady, south yard area, and two residential trash cans. The Longtown Lookout is only a few hundred feed from the swimming hole. This property is not lake front. The marinas are nearby! Please be a good neighbor and share this amazing property with other guests who may be staying at the 'Lil Lookout. (If the 'Lil Lookout is too small for your needs, both homes are listed separately and can be rented together.)
WHAT TO EXPECT:

High speed WiFi and washer/dryer & detergent
All beds have new Helix mattresses, fresh linens & down alternative pillows.
All bathrooms have plush towels, hand soap and shower products.
Starter supplies (trash bags, detergent pods, etc.) & will need to be replenished during your stay

Bedroom 1/Primary: King bed w/Roku TV & w/en suite (tub/shower combo) and dresser.
Bedroom 2: King bed w/Roku TV & large closet for storage
Bedroom 3: Two twin beds with closet/storage space
Main Bathroom: Large vanity w/tub/shower combo.
LIVING/DINING:
Spacious open concept with full-size pull-out bed in sectional sofa.
Large flat screen Roku TV for you to log into your streaming apps.
DVD player w/variety of PG DVDs for days spent inside!
Farmhouse style dining table for six. Four bar stools along the kitchen island.
A privacy safe noise monitor is located in the main living area.
KITCHEN:
Stocked kitchen w/sharp knives, pots/pans, bakeware, utensils, dish/silverware, glassware.
Drip coffee maker & Keurig w/fresh coffee grounds, pods, tea, sugar
Full size appliances (fridge, dishwasher, range).
Storage containers for leftovers, colander, dish towels.
FYI: the freezer will make ice, but it's not good. Please don't drink the ice.

A pull through garage w/space for bass boat storage!
Free off-street parking in the driveway or garage.
No street parking.
HOME TRUTHS:
We want you to fully understand the quirks of this family lake home:
- The plumbing is on a septic system. Only pees/poos are allowed to be flushed.
- The fireplace is not operational.
- The bedrooms have carpet. Bedroom 2 has some old carpet stains.
- Bedroom 1 only has a dresser. There is no closet.
- The fridge/freezer has an ice machine, but the ice is not good. Please bring your own ice.
WHEN STAYING IN A RURAL AREA:
- This is a rural location. Electrical power outage & water disruptions are possible.
- WiFi disruptions *are common* for this area. You can reset the router yourself.
- No refunds are provided for third party outage/disruptions (electrical, WiFi, water, etc.)
- All guests are encouraged to prepare for possible disruptions (extra water, flashlights, etc.)

There is no local transit. You'll need reliable automobile transportation to access the property and nearby lake amenities, including the gas stations and grocery stores located in Eufuala.
