The warehouse building is shared with our real estate office! The apartment is equipped with its own, clearly marked entrance for easy access including its own unique keypad code.
The Warehouse Loft District of Allegheny West is truly unique!
It is a short walk to the stadiums (a half a mile away), less than a mile walk or bike ride to downtown. It is close to PNC Park, Acrisure Field, Andy Warhol Museum, the Three Rivers Casino, National Aviary, plenty top notch restaurants and much more! Very centrally located.
It is down the street from one of Pittsburgh's largest parks which hosts many events including the farmer's market on Fridays in the summer/fall. Within walking distance of many local restaurants, pubs, shops, and cafes. Come and enjoy!
You can walk to the train for free rides to downtown. You can also take a bus or Uber to most places in the city. See our binder inside for a Lyft discount!

I’m Shannon, your host. I oversee all operations for the apartment, as well as the real estate business my husband and I founded, Birgo Realty, which runs out of the lower part of this building, 848 W North Ave! Our space often hosts guests, investors, family, employees, and friends. You are welcome to stop and say hi during business hours!
Since life can be a little crazy running a company and raising two beautiful daughters, Johanna will be your primary hostess. We call our humble operation "Birgo Stays," spun off of Birgo Realty, yet more personalized since we are both locals who personally manage our B&Bs. We have several places here on the North Side.
You are absolutely welcome to message us on your booking platform at any time for anything. We have a 24/7 communication team to support you.

The Space
Over a hundred years ago, Andrew Carnegie brought organs to Pittsburgh while he funded and launched community libraries across the city. Allegheny City, now Northside Pittsburgh, was Carnegie’s hometown. Here in the warehouse, a Pittsburgh man made and repaired organs for years. Unfortunately the warehouse had been underutilized after his career ended, similar to many factories in Pittsburgh.
We bought the rundown warehouse and restored it into a perfect space for our startup. Then we went a step further; most of our furniture and decor is made from the original organ wood and piping.
The construction area next door is one of our most recent developments, Allegheny City Stables Lofts. We are restoring the Stables building, the last standing municipality building of Allegheny City, and building on to it to make apartments.

Household Amenities
We provide amenities all through our home. Thank you for being respectful of our property!
Wifi and cable are provided in your stay. Please refrain from purchasing extra movies or programming. You are welcome to play any of our games on the bookshelf. Enjoy a round or two of pool as well!
Our kitchen is at your disposal. Feel free to use our cooking ware, utensils, and appliances as needed. We have plenty of storage space available for groceries. Please put your dishes in the dishwasher after use. Detergent, extra light bulbs, and batteries can be found under the kitchen sink.
You will find fresh linens and bedding here for you! If you need extra pillows or linens, or the iron and ironing board, please look in the closet by the pool table.
Our hairdryer is under the bathroom sink or in the bathroom closet.
We do keep emergency linens and towels on the property just in case. Message us if you need to access the emergency stash!

Our pack n play and bassinet are in the closet. We do not provide a mattress for the pack n play. Our high chair is in the kitchen for you.

Animals
If you have animals in our house for any reason, including service animals or friends stopping by, please tell us so we can clean properly after you check out. It’s important for us to prepare properly for the next guests in case they are allergic! We promise we will not charge you after check-in.

Our home is a non-smoking environment. If you need to smoke, please do so outside and dispose of your cigarettes. If our home smells like smoke after you check out, cigarette or otherwise, we have the right to charge you up to $500 for breaking house rules.

We will take out the trash for you after you check out! If you need to take it out during your stay, the bins are against the fence beside the private parking spaces.
Temperature Control
Our thermostat is above the desk in the living room. You are welcome to turn it to a comfortable temperature during your stay and set it back before checkout!

Please use our supplies, such as the vacuum or swiffer, found in the living room closet and under the kitchen sink.

Parking
There are three types of parking spaces available for you.
On weekends and evenings, please park right beside the apartment in any of the private parking spaces!
If it is during business hours (8 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday) please park on the street. There is free street parking on this block.
If you cannot find free street parking on this block during that time, you are welcome to park in the company’s lot, labeled Birgo Parking.

Local Mechanic
Car problems are no fun! We recommend going to Everything Automotive on Brighton for quick fixes. It’s not well marked, so just knock on the door and come on in!

Transportation
Drive - Driving is the most popular way to get around Pittsburgh. Traffic starts to increase around 7 AM - 9 AM and 3 PM - 6 PM.
Bus - The nearest bus station is Allegheny Ave at North Ave, stop ID: 1725. The PGH Transit app has bus maps and schedules!
Train - The nearest "T" is Allegheny Station. Rides are free anywhere from here to Station Square. Download the PGH Transit app for maps and times! Every train leaving Allegheny will hit all downtown stops (no need to wait for a certain line).

Walk - Some of the most renowned walking areas in Pittsburgh are right here on the North Side. Take a walk through the Mexican War Streets and Allegheny Commons Park, or across the Roberto Clemente Bridge for a fabulous view.
Bicycle - There are two Healthy Ride Bike Sharing Stations on the North Side and two on the North Shore. The Heritage Trail is our favorite trail to ride on.
Scoobi - A modern spin on an electric moped, Scoobi is a mobile-based shared transportation system. Go to the website scoobi.co to see the map of the nearest ride. Have fun and be safe!
