Positive: The location was convenient for the wedding we were attending. The location was quiet

Negative: We booked this property for a family member who was travelling to attend a family wedding with us. The property was a long way away from the location as given by Booking.com. Before we set off we contacted the owner to get a more precise location as we had seen the earlier reviews (& we suggested using what3words) but did not get a response to this question. As a consequence our family member spent over an hour looking before they called us and we met them and phoned the host who had to give me directions while my wife drove. The property was 2.5 km away from the position shown on Booking.com. I have given him the details of What3Words and the location, so hopefully this will now be resolved. We did not want to end up with 500 euros cash at the end of our holiday, so arranged with the host to supply a cheque or have an inspection at the end of the visit. All the instructions in the property are in French (which I do speak, but the family do not). The family member found the host's attitude very difficult at the inspection until I arrived to interpret. The family had not fully understood the leaving instructions as they don't read French, and the host was hostile rather than understanding. A couple of chairs were not tucked under the table and they had forgotten to wipe out the bathroom sink. It felt as if he was nit-picking and hostile and attempting to extract some more deposit money. He may be absolutely fine with a fellow native French speaker, but I can't recommend if you don't have pretty fluent French.

Summary: Not recommended if you don't speak good French.
