Like a hotel room but at a fraction of the price, and located in the best area of Fort Lauderdale. Just off of Las Olas boulevard and close walking distance to beach, this charming cozy space has private entrance, comfortable memory foam queen bed, windows with views all around of water, boats and foliage.
This hotel-like room has 42" flat screen TV, free high speed wifi for streaming and working, AppleTV with unlimited media, work space with printer/copier, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, iron and board, hair dryer, beach chairs, towels for beach and bath, and bath products.
The building itself is old and “retro”, yet safe and friendly. She is an historic pink deco building featured in movies like "Marley and Me" and "Cliffhanger", and has water wrapping around 2 sides. Although the exterior is cosmetically challenged, we have lovingly restored the interior of this unit so that it is indeed a little oasis sitting amongst multi-million dollar homes. Walk along the loveliest and most scenic street to famous Fort Lauderdale beach, restaurants, and downtown dining, shopping and business district on beautiful Las Olas.
The building is a deco era hotel that is now an apartment building. The apartments were originally designed to adjoin if both adjoining doors are unlocked, but are now permanently and completely separate units.
The windows are jalousie, which are not air tight. The A/C is central and runs on an automatic system at maximum capacity during summer on the coolest setting, and runs generally at 74 degrees by night and 77 by day.
There is a microwave and hotplate, no kitchen.
Free street parking, no assigned parking.
Coin operated laundry in building.
This space is charming and cozy on the inside, a bit "divey" on the outside, but right in the best neighborhood - walking distance to everything - a heck of a lot of fun, and at the best price anything like this could possibly be. Were not making money on this one, just covering the costs. For the right people, this place has been a favorite, fun little home away from home.
