-GUEST ACCESS-
This cabin is one of the most easily accessible cabins on the property with a beautiful view overlooking the lake! The perk of this cabin: you won't have to carry your luggage up or down the steps to get to your cabin! Parking lot is directly in front of the home with easy access to the main road M-55. The cabin has been fully renovated with sound proofing insulation to ensure you have a peaceful stay and minimal noise from M-55.
☆ Shared Property☆ (Access Currently LIMITED/ UNAVAILABLE for season)
☀ Adjacent to the cabin is a set of about 30-steps, which lead down to the beach/lake area shared with 4 other cabins on the property which includes the following that guests have access to:
☀ Private beach area, grass-yard area, small play equipment
☀ Fire pit available for roasting marshmallows by the lake
☀ Picnic table to enjoy meals together
☀ Swing to relax on by the fire
☀ Basketball net
☀ Charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal)
☀ Fish house for cleaning fish
☆ Dock ☆ (Currently Unavailable for Season)
☀ Dock is typically in by Memorial Day and Out by Labor Day.
☀ Guests are welcome to fish off dock and relax on bench to enjoy the view!
☀ Guests may rent or bring a personal water-craft, but must anchor them off-beach
☀ Guests may NOT tie up water-crafts to the private dock.
-DETAILS & HOUSE RULES-
★ Fall & Winter Renters ★
☆Dock is OUT for the season.
☆Dock & Boat lifts are stored on the shared property down the steps.
☆Guest access may be LIMITED or UNAVAILABLE to items such as: fire pit, swings, picnic table, basketball net, and fish house.
☆ It is advised that guests NOT use the steps leading down to the lake/ shared property in the fall & winter months. This is for guest safety; Stairs are not maintained or salted.
☆Failure to read this information will NOT result in any discount or refund for your stay.
★ Guests must complete the following... ★
within 72 hours of placing reservation (or in 24 hours if check-in is 14 days or less). If all items are not completed in this time, the cancellation policy will apply at no penalty to host and no access to property given. Required 3 items below:
1. Send email address
2. Review and sign the rental/ property agreement (required by HOA to gain access to property) sent by DocuSign
3. Copy of valid Photo ID (license), will be discarded post check-out
★House Rules Summary (in rental agreement):★
☆ Must be 21 years or + to book
☆ No Smoking, Vaping, or illicit drug use of any kind in cabin or on cabin deck. $500 fee or more will be charged to guest for any evidence of smoking on or in cabin property & deck. Additional fees will be applied for smells of smoking, damages, additional cleaning and/ or repairs- and guest will be asked to leave without refund.
☆ No Guest Pets of any kind. If you sneak in a pet, you will be charged $500 and asked to leave without any refund.
☆ No parties, events, or large gatherings.
☆ Check-in: after 3:00 pm. Check out: by 10:00 am. $100 late check out fee will be charged for every 15-minutes past check out (and/or not following check-out instructions).
☆ Maximum occupancy is 6 registered guests including infants/children.
☆ If you damage the home, you agree to pay for any damages to the home.
☆ Please read entire listing & house rules before agreeing to book
★Notes for all Guests★
☆Starter supply of TP & paper towel provided. If guests run out, they are responsible to purchase additional supplies.
☆You are "Up North"; you may encounter mosquitoes, spiders, bees, and other insects or wildlife.
☆The cabin has been fully renovated with sound proofing insulation to ensure you have a peaceful stay and minimal noise from M-55, which is located outside of the cabin.
*Please consider purchasing travel insurance to help you protect your investment. No refunds are given for weather, change of plans, unforeseen circumstances, etc.
*Two security cameras on the exterior of the property. Exterior security camera outside of front door, facing front parking lot of property. Exterior ring doorbell security camera located outside of breezeway/side door, facing front of deck. Devices may record video/audio when motion activated 24/7. Camera view may not be obstructed or covered at any time- $100 fee for covering or obstructing cameras and/or eviction without refund will apply.
*Please take note: Guests may NOT bring any pets to the property for any reason (see above). Private Cottage owners may have their pets on the property (only exception per HOA rules). We have no control over this nor the actions of the other cottage owners and/or their pets. Please contact us if any issues.
★Spring/Summer Renters:★
☆The cabin is located at the top of a hill. There is a deck directly connected to this cabin with railing. There are a set of 30 steps adjacent to the cabin leading down to the beach & lake area (see photo) which is privately shared with all 4 other cabins on the property. This cabin would not be suitable for those with mobility limitations wanting to access the lake.
☆Dock is put in by Memorial Weekend & is typically removed after Labor Day. We have no control of when dock is put in or if it is taken out sooner than noted.

The Lake House is centrally located in beautiful Houghton Lake. There are 4 other similar beachfront cabins located on the shared area of the property. On the other side of the parking lot you can easily access M-55 which will get you just about anywhere! You are within walking distance to the "Sno-Queen" ice cream parlor, the "M55 Pour House" bar, and a Laundromat across the street. Less than 1 mile away you can go to the rustic "Pines Movie Theater" or spend a day at the "Pineview Highlands Golf Course". Most restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and local attractions are within a short 5-minute drive.
