Positive: This was a last-minute, unplanned booking made while the Munich airport was shutting down for the night. This seemed to be just another challenge just before the end of a long day that included a cancelled flight and a missed connection back to the US. Hotels nearby the airport, fully booked. Things have positively changed the moment we booked an overnight stay at Hotel Tannhof. Once on route, we called the hotel just to make sure that we will be able to access our room due to the close to midnight arrival. The owner answered the call and assured us that he will wait for us. He did, and even directed the taxi driver to the correct location on a very rainy night. The stay was wonderful. Very spacious, spotless room with AC FULLY Operational (this for those who care during canicular summer days). With Uber and Bold service being spotty in the area, the owner helped again with personally booking us a trip back to the airport. Again, on time departure and great ride with a pro who managed to avoid morning traffic while giving us the opportunity of a timely airport arrival while experiencing the wonderful Bayern countryside. Unplanned as it may have been we ended up with a great stay in a place that positively surprised us in all ways possible.
