Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Very good value for money, and only a short drive from Reykjavík and Borgarnes. It is also about 30 minutes from Hvammsvík. The hotel has beautiful views, everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and dinner was also nice. The dinner menu is not very large, but the prices were quite reasonable compared with many places in Iceland.

Negative: The hotel could really use a renovation. Everything felt quite old, especially the furniture and decor, which seemed very dated and mismatched. The outdoor area could also be improved, as it was basically just some furniture placed on the gravel outside the wooden deck by the hot tubs. The rooms are on two levels, which I found a bit inconvenient, with the bed upstairs. There was only one chair in the room, and it was downstairs, even though the room was for two people. One of the shower doors was also missing. The bed was okay, but nothing special, and I did not sleep very well in it.

Summary: Good value for money with beautiful views and friendly staff, but the hotel feels dated and could use some renovation.
