Relax and enjoy your stay in our lovely vacation rental in the heart of the quaint hamlet of Wilmington, NY, near Lake Everest and just minutes from Lake Placid & Whiteface Mountain Resort! We have 9 luxurious homes within a mile of each other - some on the same street - making our homes the perfect getaway for large gatherings of family and friends, reunions, or lodging for corporate events.
The mountain views are stunning, and the Cottage is clean, cute, comfortable, and located just behind a small pizza/pasta restaurant in the quaint town of Wilmington, close to shops, the library, and the visitors center. The inside is lovely, and the outside is fantastic! The property boasts two master suites, and you get both suites included when you book this property. Each suite has a King bed, bathroom, and Queen-size pullout couch. A full kitchen is in the larger suite, and a kitchenette is in the "Studio" suite for your convenience. The unique layout with a short outdoor path leading from one suite to the other appeals to families, friends, and couples. The two suites are just the right distance apart to allow togetherness and privacy for you and your guests.
There are two outside dining areas, a large deck plus a patio; 2 charcoal grills; a PRIVATE hot tub; and a fire pit with Adirondack Chairs! Breathtaking mountain views are yours from the fire pit, patio, and each of the two suites. The cottage is close to the beautiful Ausable River and Lake Everest Beach. Lake Everest at Wilmington Town Beach has a beach, boat rentals, kayaking, picnic area, playground, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, paddle boarding, ice skating, and so much more! Everything is ready for you to kick back, relax, and enjoy the views!! Privacy fencing surrounds your hot tub, and outside lights are available for evenings relaxing in the tub, eating dinner on the patio, or sitting around the fire pit. The property is located in the quaint hamlet of Wilmington, close to restaurants, gift shops, a library, a visitor center, and so much more. This 2-suite cottage is situated in the back of a small pizza/pasta restaurant, and its entrance is in the rear within the private yard, separate and quiet. Guests adore this property which offers the right mix of value and amenities!
Mountain View Cottage is located behind a small pizza/pasta restaurant. It has 2 master bedroom suites and 2 living areas completely separated from each other but easily accessible via an exterior stone walkway. When you rent the cottage, you get access to both areas! This unique layout is perfect for friends, family, and couples who want common areas large enough for gathering yet also desire privacy. Both suites are included in your booking and offer value and amenities such as the hot tub, fire pit, and charcoal grills. For your comfort, we are pleased to provide A/C between June 1 - September 15.

Dog-Friendly! We welcome responsible owners with well-mannered dogs! Allows up to a maximum of 3 dogs. We do not allow cats or any other animals other than dogs!
At Mountain View Cottage, stunning mountain views, kitchen (in the larger suite), kitchenette (in the 2nd master suite), hot tub, fire pit, two bedrooms, and two living areas are all yours!
Cottage Details:
You enter the building (painted blue) from the rear yard and look for the door that says Mountain View Cottage. The Cottage is located behind a small pizza/pasta restaurant. The door to the Cottage is labeled with a sticker so you'll easily see it. You are renting the entire Cottage with two bedrooms, two separate living areas, plus common, private outdoor amenities.
Each suite sleeps 4 guests - please know that with 8 people, space will be tight, but you are on vacation and are free to decide what you prefer. The furnishings are warm, stylish colors and tasteful decor for a luxurious stay. The beds are comfortable and inviting for a restful night's sleep under beautiful, warm quilts. Extra pillows are available for your enjoyment, and spare blankets are available for chilly nights.
Larger suite (Sleeps 4): a beautiful open plan 1-bedroom apartment with a separate master suite, living, dining, and kitchen area; large bathroom, and washer/dryer. The living room has a luxurious memory foam queen-sized sleeper sofa, coffee table, and large Smart TV. There are expansive mountain views through the patio doors leading to the outside amenities.
Kitchen Details: The kitchen has a full-sized stove, fridge, sink, dishwasher, and microwave. It is a fully stocked kitchen with a blender, rice cooker, mixer, and a full complement of tools, pots, and pans. Spacious granite countertops provide plenty of room for you to enjoy preparing fantastic meals for the entire crew! The kitchen table and chairs have seating for 8 and enable your group to eat and gather all together, either inside or outside.
Bedroom Details: The bedroom has a king bed, ceiling fan/light, and a nightstand with a lamp. It also has a flat-screen television. The bedroom has a closet and under-bed drawer space for unpacking.
Bathroom Details:
The bathroom is clean, modern, and comfortable. The bathroom in the larger suite has ample ceiling lights and lights over the sink, while mirrored medicine cabinets and vanity offer space to store your belongings. The bathroom contains a custom shower with glass doors. The fixtures are elegant and simple to use. There is ample water pressure and lighting available. We think you will find it immaculate and lovely.
Smaller "Studio" suite (Sleeps 4): 15 feet away from the larger suite with a separate entrance. This master bedroom suite is also part of the Cottage you are renting - you are renting both the larger suite with kitchen and dining area and the separate master studio suite.
The lovely and comfortable open floor plan includes a large bedroom with a king-sized bed and under-bed storage, a living area, large Smart TV, luxurious memory foam queen-sized sleeper sofa, coffee table, kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and small bathroom. A low "knee wall" separates the living area from the king bed.
For your convenience, there is a small fridge, coffee maker, and microwave for all to use when you are not sharing dinner or meals with the rest of the group.
Bathroom Details: small bathroom with a toilet, small pedestal sink with a mirrored medicine cabinet to store your essentials, and small shower (the larger suite contains a sizeable walk-in shower if more room is required). The shower in the "Studio suite" is made of plastic and small - we did what we could with limited space, but it works great and has ample pressure. Everything else in the cottage is high-end.
Each suite has a hot water heater, so there is ample hot water.
Wireless internet plus local phone calling (USA only) are conveniently provided. Long-distance calls are not included; however, you can call over WIFI using apps.
Outdoor Living:
There are two outdoor living spaces at Mountain View Cottage that are private and sure to please, with fantastic amenities to help you maximize your vacation enjoyment. Enjoy views of Whiteface Mountain and the Wilmington range from the stone patio or the fire pit. The patio contains a 5-person hot tub and an outside dining table and chairs. There is a fire pit for making s'mores and memories with family or friends. Adirondack chairs are provided around the fire pit.
There's private parking on the side of the building, identified by signs that say Vacation Rental parking. You have your own private walkway to the Cottage. We welcome you to have fun and enjoy the outdoor hot tub, fire pit, and BBQ Grills!!

Lake Everest is 200 yards away and has a beach, boat rentals, kayaking, picnic area, playground, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, paddle boarding, ice skating, and so much more!
Additional Information:
The following items are minimally supplied (only enough to get you started): toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, and bath soap. Linens are provided, including bedsheets, washcloths, and bath towels, to use during your stay. We do not supply kitchen spices, condiments, hand towels, beach towels, shampoo, body soaps, or charcoal.
A plow service shovels snow (above 5 inches) in winter. Sand and a snow shovel are available on the front deck for guest use.
All USA & Canadian Holidays* are subject to a minimum of 3 to a 6-night stay at the Owner's discretion. Two (2) night stays are considered at the Owner's discretion and there is a cleaning fee, a Damage Protection Policy fee, and a 5% Essex County bed tax.
The Damage Protection fee covers accidental damage to furniture, appliances, electronic devices, windows, doors, and any resource of the cottage up to $1,500. If damages exceed $1,500, guests agree to cover the difference.
