Summary: The hotel didn't particularly stand out in any way, and generally I had a pleasant stay, with one glaring exception. We were on vacation visiting a lot of the New England areas, and had a large, heavy gift bag of souvenirs and gifts we had bought. Housekeeping took it, and when we found it missing they claimed Housekeeping said they thought it was trash. Everything in the bag was brand new and there was no trash in the bag. Initially staff seemed to be sorry but offer no help or solutions other than to allow me access to their trash compactor to dig around in it to see if i could find anything. After I gave a little pushback the next day, they agreed to pay me back for whatever receipts I could produce of the items I had said were in the bag. That was the extent of it, no "sorry we'll make sure this never happens again", no further compensation, no promise of housekeeping review or training, but to just quietly sweep it under the rug. The entire process felt sketchy and I honestly felt like i got swindled by some shady practices by staff. Otherwise the facility was fairly clean and well run. Won't be using Holiday Inn on my vacation travels any more.
