On a tree-lined road in the heart of the picturesque, hamlet-like neighbourhood of Highgate, this colourful one-bedroom home offers the best of most worlds: simultaneously surrounded by nature and close to London’s highlights. This second-floor apartment is in a beautiful, old red-brick mansion block surrounded by ancient trees and with a vast communal garden at its disposal. When you’re not relaxing in the fully renovated apartment’s light-filled, cosy living room, venture out and explore one of the many green spaces in almost every direction (including Hampstead Heath and Highgate Woods), or walk five minutes to reach Highgate tube station and get straight into central London in no time.
LIVING & DINING AREA
As avid and frequent explorers, the apartment is filled with beautiful ceramics and art from the owners’ travels around the world. A large, comfortable sofa and Togo armchair (in limited edition print) offer the space you need to relax with a book (of which there are plenty on the shelves) or in front of the large TV. For audiophiles, one owner’s musical past has seen to the careful curation of fantastic sound system. A round, oak dining table in the bay window carries the patina of many a good dinner party hosted in this room in the past.
KITCHEN
Make your way to the other side of the home to find the fully equipped kitchen, where warm oak cabinetry contrasts beautifully with sleek white Corian countertops and green marble backsplashes. This beautiful kitchen includes a Sage espresso machine, large fridge/freezer, Neff oven, and Miele gas hob, as well as a wide array of beautiful ceramics and dinnerware collected around the world. The gorgeous living area, with its stylish appointments and flood of natural light from the bay windows. Small details are a delight in this flat: beautiful green marble thresholds at every door, beautiful light fittings (including by Noguchi, Muuto, Norman Copenhagen, and Palefire), a collection of interesting ceramics, art, and soft oak finishings imbue the flat with a soft yet welcoming aesthetic.
