The Space:
Located in a quiet, tree-lined street, our sparkling clean home boasts two stories, a gas fireplace, hardwood floors and a sleek, state of the art kitchen on its first floor. Beautiful exposed brick surrounds you as you relax in the leather sectional and super comfortable surroundings.
The open plan chefs kitchen with all modern appliances and endless counter space will have even the least culinarily inclined hoping to whip up a meal or order take-in.
The house also boasts aa true rarity in D.C, your very own spacious private back deck and shared backyard (please refer to "Other Things to Note" section regarding outdoor kitchen use); perfect for enjoying morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. A true oasis in the city.
There’s a dining table with seating for 6 so guests are welcomed to enjoy a meal at home, but with the plethora of award winning restaurants just outside your door,D.C dining beckons!For those who need to do work while in town, the huge dining table doubles as a veritable workstation, and you can enjoy views of greenery while catching up on emails.
Upstairs, the large master suite has a luxurious king bed, a desk/workspace, and a beautifully appointed bathroom.
The living room comes complete with a HUGE TV on a swivel (with smart streaming functions), resting above the gas fireplace in the living room; THE recipe for a cozy evening in!
High-speed wifi, 3 TV`s and a washer and dryer are also available for your use.
We can comfortably sleep 6 guests by use of the below;
~ King in the master bedroom (TV included)
~ Queen in the second bedroom (TV included)
~ Full sized bed in the third bedroom.

Guest Access:
The apartment is not shared with anyone else, and is a completely separate unit with its own entrance. As with many homes in DC the neighboring units have full time occupants. You will have your own entrance, and private access, however please be mindful of the fact that noise can travel up and downwards and this is city living, we like to take care of our neighbors!
The exterior kitchen is NOT included with your reservation, but you are welcome to include it for an additional rental rate, and cleaning charge. Please let us know if you are interested in reserving that space when completing your reservation.
If we find it has been used without prior approval / reservation, we will need to charge.
The Neighborhood:
Bloomingdale / Shaw neighborhood is a trendy neighborhood, popular with families and the younger DC crowd. It`s residential, but has great access to downtown. If you want to stay in the neighborhood, stroll a few blocks down the magnificent tree-lined streets to find neighborhood favorites like Red Hen, Aroi Thai,Bacio Pizzeria, Big Bear Cafe, Showtime, The Royal, and so much more! Pop down to Yoga District for your daily workout, the (secret...shhh!) Crispus Attucks Park for a picnic, or head over to Sylvan Cafe for coffee and a quick treat. And there are many more great food options in the NoMA / Gallaudet and Bloomingdale neighborhoods. We provide a property guide stock full of our local favorites!
Getting Around:
No need for a car at this location! Both the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro Station (red line) and the Shaw / Howard University Station (yellow and green lines) are a short (15/20 minute) walk from the home. Buses are plentiful in the area and you can catch 5 different bus lines within 4 blocks of the house. For those looking for something more active, guests can WALK to the White House, Smithsonian Museums, and so much more in just over half an hour. DC National Airport is a short 15 minute ride/uber from the home.
Our home is a mere 10 minute drive from DC’s downtown attractions, Capital One Arena, and the historic monuments.
Uber/Lyft easily or utilize nearby public transportation, including the DC metro bus (G8 and 80), metro rail (Shaw / Green line), and Capital Bikeshare – all of which are a short walk away.
If you want to stay close to home, we are just a few blocks from Bloomingdale’s great local cafes (Big Bear, Windows Market), restaurants (Red Hen, Tyber Creek), and bars (Boundary Stone, Pub & the People) – and you are a 20 minute walk from the U Street corridor, 14th Street, and Shaw.
We’re a 10 minute drive from Union Station and about 15-20 minutes from Ronald Reagan airport.
