Summary: I had an issue with the property for our family’s scheduled visit. Property was clean, but smelled of cigarettes on the main level. I followed the recommended protocol to address the issue by contacting the owner, who didn’t initially respond, and then I reached out to the provided contact for the property manager who said they had never been to the property once we were able to reach them. I indicated that the main level of the property smelled of cigarettes. The owner disagreed, did offer to clean, but the issue was not cleanliness it was the odor of the home. This is advertised as a non-smoking property. Owner indicated the property manager who is also housekeeping did not note any issues at the time of cleaning. Not sure how that is possible if the property manager indicated that they have never been to the property in the first place. Issue went unresolved. We attempted to call Vrbo, sat on hold for 40 min while we tried to find new accommodations only to be disconnected. We did not stay at the property given the cigarette smell. We called again after our trip and were on the phone for over an hour and a half. No response still from the owner after Vrbo initiated contact via email. The owner never picked up the phone to resolve the issue, only messaged through the app. Vrbo does not provide support or attempt to resolve issues on behalf of their customers . Very disappointing customer service by all and the property is not worth staying at even for a short period of time.
