FANTASTIC HISTORICAL RURAL HOUSE IN GUALTA (BAIX EMPORDÀ, GIRONA)
In the heart of the beautiful region of Baix Empordà, between the sea and the mountains, is this centenary and traditional village house recently restored, where you can enjoy unforgettable days. Gualta, is near Girona and Barcelona, 5 minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean, in the famous "Golden Triangle" of the Costa Brava.
We recover the hospitality and charm of the “Cases de Pagès” typical of the area, built with stone and wood. The multitude of cozy corners of this property, its original stone oven, its watering hole, as well as its restored antique furniture, cause the sensation of going back in time. All this in a private and intimate environment, quiet and very cozy, where you can relax and enjoy with family or friends.
The 400 m2 property consists of two volumes: a main house and an old haystack, both built in stone. It has a fantastic porch of 30 m2, which communicates both volumes, and has a shady patio with facades covered by a beautiful seasonal ivy; and also enjoys a beautiful and intimate sunny garden of 90 m2 with swimming pool, which overlook the ceramic lattice balconies of the main house, wrapped in violet bougainvillea.
The main house is distributed in three levels:
- On the ground floor we find the hall, a multipurpose game room with ping-pong table and the summer kitchen, directly related to both patios.
- The intermediate floor has a dining room, a living room with fireplace and kitchen, equipped with a sunny balcony from which you can access the garden through a stone staircase.
- On the upper floor there are 4 double bedrooms, one with a built-in bathroom, and three with a shared bathroom on the same floor.
One of the bedrooms has a beautiful balcony with distant views of the sea, the meadows, as well as the castle of Montgrí.
In the garden we find a paved part to enjoy lunch and dinner outdoors (provided with table, chairs and barbecue), a central garden area with sun loungers to relax in the sun or in the shade of the beautiful and old lemon tree, and finally has a Nice small private pool (not fenced) that will surely be the main attraction of the little ones.
The haystack is distributed in two levels:
- On the ground floor it has a cozy entrance hall - main entrance to the property - and a toilet-laundry room.
- On the upper floor there is a large bedroom with a capacity of up to 4 people, with a full bathroom and a cozy reading room.
The haystack has access to the inner courtyard, from which you can access the main house, the summer kitchen or the large porch where you will want to take shelter from the warm summer sunsets.
The historical past of Gualta is remarkable, highlighting the remains of an Iberian settlement, the old castle, the flour mill of the town, as well as the medieval access bridge to the town, below which the Daró river flows.
