Positive: The residence is a great location, comfortable accommodations, wonderful kitchen and washer and dryer. Great layout and well furnished beds with clean linens and plenty of towels. Very private and secure area. I would come back again.
Negative: Evolve was quick to let us know we somehow were not parked properly to which we immediately complied. Evolve complained we did not bring in the Wednesday trash cans from the curb…we only arrived late on Wednesday and had no idea we were to bring the trash cans into the garage, a note regarding this might be provided for future renters. Evolve never got back to us regarding several complaints about the TV’s. There are several large TV screens but we were unable to even catch the news or any local channels or use the TV without having to utilize our own Netflix or other service. Basic TV seems reasonable to have in a rental. Also, great movie videos in lower level shelves and huge screen and giant relaxing looking leather sofa but no DVD controls to use it!!!! We called Evolve at least twice regarding the tv situation but no one ever called back…that was a huge disappointment. The night before we left, the lights in 2 upstairs bathrooms and hallway would not go on. We had knowledgeable guests among us to check the fuse box to no avail. It was nearly 10 pm so we did not bother Evolve. There are three empty flashlights above the refrigerator. Batteries in them would have been helpful. Also, it is dangerous to not have railings on the entrance steps and a grab bar in the bathroom with the tub should be installed for everyone’s safety. Dusty furniture was noticeable!!!! The bedroom with “two single beds” in the listing should be changed to note they are bunk bed…was had all elderly adults and no one could use the upper bed…two single beds would have been perfect for the 8 mature adults. I know that all sounds “picky” but for the rent charged I believe these are all justified.
Summary: Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Expansive Mountain Retreat and would return…autumn was lovely.
