Positive: At the price I paid, this was unbeatable. My room was nice and tidy with very crisp and clean bed sheets. There's several nice shared spaces to hang out in, that give themselves naturally to engage with the other people who are staying there. The location is absolutely perfect, there's a 30 second walk down to the river, and across the river there's a nice bar, and several fancy coffee shops in the streets beyond that. The view from the deck is also spectacular. Probably the best view in Penang.

Negative: A bit more attention to cleanliness of the shared bathroom would have been welcome, just basics like a fresh clean daily and replenishing the toilet paper. It's possible it's because I was there out of season, but the staff was notably absent and the fridge with drinks for sale was empty, no breakfast, etc. It was not a problem for me, except it would be nice to be able to buy a bottle of cold water.
