With wood canopying the house and a 5 min walk to town, have the best of both worlds on your getaway. This is truly a home away from home that will restore your spirit. The historic home built in 1838 is full of charm yet has updated features to make your stay comfortable. Skylights, new windows all around, a reading nook, private office, 2 separate entrances, 2 stone patios with river views, 1.5 baths, remodeled kitchen, a double dining area and large pantry, stocked with the basics you need to relax and unwind.
The house has been lovingly restored with an artist's touch, so you can be inspired during your stay. Personal touches and delights fill the home, including some obvious with the antique baby grand and original hard wood floors. Nestle in for a cozy writing weekend, bring your hiking gear or bike and enjoy the many trails that venture off directly from Weeden St walk to town and shop antiques, galleries, coffee shops and some of NJ's best restaurants and events.
Parking is easy here, unlike other local places. Right out front, roadside always available for 2 cars.
Once parked, you can find all the entertainment you need for a weekend on foot.
Walkable to all of downtown New Hope and Lambertville, or stay home and enjoy stargazing from the oversized stone patio while staying warm with the fire pit. The canal is directly across the road, as is the Delaware River where you can canoe, swim, raft or boat. Sit out on the Winged Dam and get a 360 degree view of New Hope and Lambertville, or hike up to Goat Hill Overlook (20-25 min hike from the house) to have a picnic and watch the sunset over the Delaware. Close to Peddler's Village, Odette's, the Wildlife Center, Butterfly Gardens, Solebury Orchards, several wineries and farms, Frenchtown and more.
This house is filled with history and stories. Some of which the owner is sharing in her podcast and in a screenplay. Take part of part of the story and experience this enchanted and magical home for yourself.
If you need more space, there is a downstairs unit available with another queen bed, kitchenette and bath with shower. This must be organized with the owner. We are also working to provide two more sleeping spaces for the adventurous in the "shed" - an outdoor building with electricity, radiant heat floors, new windows and a cozy space!
