Newly remodeled, in the center of everything in Oregon''s most popular destination, closer to most venues including the Amphitheater than most West-side locations. Cascades, Crater Lake, close to Old Mill District, Factory Outlet Mall, Breweries, Old Downtown/Drake Park, Restaurants, and movies. 28 minutes to Mt. Bachelor. What to do and see book available in house with maps, the house is located on a dead-end street, very quiet neighborhood with very low traffic and noise. The house has a new jetted tub, and a beautiful (see pic) dry cedar sauna, very warm and cozy new natural gas fireplace, Jen-air range, laundry facilities, and about everything you need. Yard frequented by squirrels, blue jays, and sometimes deer. Centrally located by the old mill district and just minutes to anywhere in Bend including old town. The main floor bedrooms include the southeast Bedroom which has a new Queen sized bed. The southwest Bedroom has a Trundle with a pullout bed underneath. Other sleeping areas include , TV room has a couch "double sized" hide-a-bed, and a single over-sized hide-a-chair with tempur-pedic mattress. In Bend (The Deschutes House) is within 30 minutes of at least 6 great fly fishing waters (Deschutes, Metolius, Fall River, Crooked River, Crane Prairie, Lake Billy Chinook)....paddle boating (Tumalo Creek Kayak Co.), skiing (cross country and downhill) snowshoeing, snowmobiling, biking (a list of little known trails with the rental), hiking, hunting, mountaineering, metal detecting (white's Spectrum Metal Detector available from owner (ask)), desert to the East.... West 10,000 lakes (mink lake basin) area, century drive and high lakes trails. East of Bend is the Central Oregon High Desert....history read "Rube Longs" book "The Oregon Desert".(Available at River Inn library) Just a few miles to the southwest is Silver Lake and a cowboy restaurant called the "Cowboy Dinner Tree" you need reservations but don't miss this little known and locals favorite spot. Just north of this is 100 acres of very large sand dunes and a forest of Douglas Fir trees called, "The Lost Forest". I believe it is where the "blue bucket Mine" was found by the "Herron wagon train in 1845. Steven Meeks....guided the often lost wagon train from Fort Boise thru Central Oregon, instead of the Oregon Trail route. Read the book "Meeks cutoff- trail 1845 (available at River Inn library). The house has high-speed internet with a 45 inch Sony flat screen TV connected to HD local television as well as "NetFlix" and Amazon "Prime" with a guest subscription to both.

We want you to stay at our home. Something not quite right...talk to us, we are easy, and want you for clients. The city of Bend has noise ordinances so please be a good neighbor and bring any noise inside and hold it down after 10PM. You will find contacts to call posted in the residence should a problem happen and our neighbors have been contacted and notified of our number should things get out of hand. House sleeps 8. We are a licensed rental by the City of Bend. Tested (new batteries July each year) smoke alarms in every room and carbon mono alarms in rooms with gas appliances.
Vacation rentals are often someone's primary residence and rented out in their absence... (not our case) but it has articles of books and knick nacks that hopefully you will enjoy as we do. Most closets and drawers are free of clutter but some first aid stuff may remain. The refrigerator is empties of everything the last guest brought and a control of dated sauces that may be there are regularly checked. This is not a motel room devoid of everything but where we live at times when we are on vacation.
If a sit down dinner for a large family is in the plans it should be noted that the house only has a small dining area and kitchen. The table is antique and appears small but does fold out... seats 4...6 would be tight!
For our summer visitors. The house has air conditioning in the two upstairs bedrooms, which is usually adequate, as when the sun goes down even a 100 degree day can be in the 50's at night. Most clients rent the house with the idea of spending the day on the river...mountains...or lakes...returning to the house when it has cooled a bit. The last few years have seen some hot summers into the 90's and 100 degree mark and staying that way for a week at a time. If you plan to be out doing things...this house will be perfect. If however, you intend to occupy the house during the day, the air conditioners will not be adequate during a real hot spell. We have purchased a large heat pump and intend to install it in the summer of 2019 or spring of 2019. For the winter visitors sometimes large dumps of snow hit the area and finding someone to clear it is nearly impossible, We are not responsible for inclement weather conditions.
