Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The property is beautiful! It’s modern and well landscaped. It was clean and there was maintenance staff visibly working to keep it tidy. The selection at the “mini-mart” was surprisingly good, I was happy to see Marie Calendars frozen meals when hunger struck at 10:30pm! The selection of snacks and sundries is solid. They had ice cold water and fruit infused water in the lobby, a notable nice touch and super refreshing. The property does have a laundry facility- which I love.

Negative: As much as I enjoyed almost everything else about our stay—- the BED felt like sleeping on a bag of Kingsford Mesquite BBQ briquettes. We didn’t lie down in the bed until late in the evening or I would have asked to change rooms. It may just be a bed that needed to be replaced a few decor iterations ago, and I don’t think every room has the issue. But for us, on this stay- the bed was a huge miss. It felt very tight and solid to the touch, but in practical use the large bag of charcoal is the best comparison. I’m a very petite female, my larger heavier husband had a worse time of it than I did, however. The laundry facilities were out of order at the time of our visit with no ETA for repair We wanted to visit the pool or hot tub, but we had a short trip and unfortunately there were several unsupervised elementary age children running amok around the pool area around 8pm. Since the pool area closed at 9, we didn’t have a chance to try another time. No big deal. Just to be clear- I’m a mom and a grandma. I love children, I love to hear children playing - even loudly and chaotically so long as the play is appropriate. In this case, the children needed some guidance and we chose a documentary instead.
