Country House, 12 Person Hot Tub & Lake Views | House in Bristol, United Kingdom

5 Bedroom House with Kitchen, Laundry and TV
Summary:
This is a truly stunning home located in Somerset, with expansive views of Blagdon Lake and the Mendip Hills. The landscape garden wraps around the whole property, ensuring plenty of privacy and lots of outdoor space to enjoy on warm days. Gather around the large wooden dining table for alfresco feasts, as food bubbles away on the state of the art Everdure BBQ. As if that wasn't enough, the 12 person raised hot tub has been perfectly positioned for year round enjoyment of the surroundings!
The Space:
Inside, there is a real feel of luxury with impeccable interior styling throughout plus ample room to spread out and relax. The open-plan living room and kitchen is the heart of the home; take in the beautiful surroundings through floor to ceiling windows and revel in the utterly peaceful feel of it all. The high-spec bespoke kitchen is an absolute pleasure to cook in and has been kitted out with everything you could need and more. Elegant granite lines the counter tops, whilst exposed wooden beams make the space feel characterful and homely. Discover the Range cooker, a breakfast island with cookbooks, a double-doored American style fridge freezer, Dualit toaster and kettle, ceramic butler sink, high quality knives and complimentary Aesop soap to use during your stay. No expense has been spared in making the space as wonderful as possible.
Meanwhile, next door the calming teal living room has an impressively large corner sofa for all to kick off their shoes and cosy in for the night. Light up the open fire using wood provided and choose a film or series to watch on the huge 4K Smart TV. During the day, this room benefits from total black out blinds for a true cinematic experience. The house also benefits from having a handy boot room, perfect for storing muddy boots and wellies after a long walk in the countryside! One of the five bedrooms is situated on the ground floor and has private access out to the garden. Sink into the soft sheets of your super-kingsize bed and make good use of the modern en-suite bathroom with a walk-in waterfall shower. The room is also fitted with a non-intrusive 4K picture-frame TV.
Upstairs, the additional four bedrooms all feature super-kingsize beds, luxury linens and the highest quality mattresses with Vispring toppers. Each room has been styled individually using thoughtfully-sourced furniture and homely furnishings as well as 4K TVs for maximum comfort. The master is an absolute knock-out, with exposed wooden beams up in the rafters and incredible views over the lake that can be enjoyed with a cup of tea in bed the moment you wake up. An opulent brass bath has been carefully placed with the views in mind and nothing beats soaking in warm bubbles with a glass of wine in hand. And if that wasn't enough, it's also got a walk in dressing room with make up table and drinks fridge! Additionally, three of the rooms have a double sofa bed and one has a single sofa bed. These are best suited for families with young children.
With huge walk in showers, dressing rooms, gym equipment, roll top baths, dual sinks and more, this is an extraordinary home that will provide an unforgettable holiday.
Dunbarin has 5 super king size rooms, so most comfortably sleeps 10 guests. Additionally, three of the first floor bedrooms have double sofa beds and one has a single sofa bed, so it is technically possible to sleep up to 17 guests. However, we think the sofa beds are best suited to families with children who wish to sleep in the same room, as they are not going to provide the same high level of comfort for adults found elsewhere within the property.
This is a quiet, residential area and therefore there must be no noise after 11pm. We ask that you also respect our neighbours during the day and do not play music overly loud. Given this, we do not accept bookings for parties or groups of under 30's. If we find that your booking is in breach of these rules, we will have to terminate the reservation without refund.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole property and garden.
The Neighborhood:
The house is located on a quiet rural road in Blagdon with unrivalled views of the lake and surrounding Mendip Hills. Whilst the house has everything you need to stay in and relax, we would highly recommend exploring the local area and beyond. Enjoy long country walks straight from the door - a five mile hike will take you comfortably around the lake and back. Blackdown Hill can be reached from Burrington Ham Car Park, which is just a short 25 minute walk down the lane or a four minute drive. The moor-like landscape has incredible views of the countryside and you can even see over to the Bristol Channel and Wales on a clear day. Dolebury Warren (Iron Age Hill Fort) is an 11 minute drive, whilst the spectacular Cheddar Gorge is 17 minutes away. World class fishing at Blagdon Lake and Chew Valley Lake is also just around the corner. Not only can you catch monster Pike and Trout, but you can do it whilst overlooking a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty! Tackle, boat rental and more are all available on site.
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to dining, and this part of Somerset has made a name for itself as a foodie hotspot over recent years. The Seymour Arms is the local pub just over four minutes walk away, serving high quality gastro pub fare that was awarded a Michelin badge in recent years. Over by Chew Valley Lake, the Ring O'Bells is certainly worth a visit as is the renowned Salt and Malt fish and chips on the water's edge. The Ethicurean is a unique dining experience set within a Victorian walled garden. Reachable in just 12 minutes, we would highly recommend trying their five-course feasting menu and excellent wine pairings. For a real treat, head to The Pig at Bath hotel and restaurant. The luxurious country house is a 20 minute drive and provides the perfect backdrop for sunny lunches out on the lawn or in the pretty conservatory overlooking the deer. Meanwhile, The Pony Chew Valley is the renowned pub from superstar chef Josh Eggleton, serving Michelin star food that has been sourced from the surrounding fields and their very own on-site kitchen garden.
If you'd like a day out in the city, both Bath and Bristol are reachable by car in under 40 minutes!
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of the property, we would recommend bringing a car for your stay. That said, Bristol Airport is just a 15 minute drive for long-distance or international travellers. There is ample space on the driveway for five vehicles to fit comfortably as well as a double garage.
Other Things to Note:
Whilst every effort is made to ensure our hot tub maintenance company carry out safety checks for chemical levels on changeover days only, sometimes this may not be possible. For guests staying for longer periods a mid stay chemical check may be required. So please be aware that the hot tub maintenance company could arrive during your stay to do so. The checks will not take long and they will only need exterior access.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
