Morehead City RV Rental | Coastal Tiki Hideaway: Campsite #2, 30 Amp, Full Hook-up

1 Bedroom RV Rental

Bring your RV (or tent) to the coast! We offer two campsites on a third of an acre in Morehead City, NC - just minutes from the beach. Both are full hook-up (water, electric, sewer) and 30 amp (not 50 amp).
After spending the day at the beach or out on the water, come back to your Coastal Tiki Hideaway to relax in the hammock under the palm trees, grill out, eat at the picnic table under the expansive branches of our 30’ magnolia tree, and gather ‘round the campfire to enjoy some s’mores.
--LOCATION--
Located at the North Carolina Crystal Coast - NC's Southern Outer Banks - specifically the Morehead City area, the Coastal Tiki Hideaway is nestled alongside our home just minutes away from Morehead City's waterfront, Atlantic Beach, historic Beaufort, Pine Knoll Shores, Croatan National Forest, and Cape Lookout National Seashore.
<1 mile to Restaurants/Stores
3 miles to Croatan National Forest public game lands
4 miles to Public Boat Ramp
6 miles to Atlantic Beach
6 miles to Morehead City Waterfront
9 miles to Beaufort
9 miles to Fort Macon State Park
11 miles to NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores
--CAMPSITE #2--
This listing is for campsite #2 - to the right of the palm tree. The hook-ups are on the palm tree side, so you'll most likely find yourself pulling into the space and then backing out when you leave. If you'd prefer campsite #1 (to the left of the palm tree near the outdoor sink) where you can back into the space and pull out upon leaving, please see our other listing: www.vrbo.com/3331378.
If you are tent camping, then you’ll pitch your tent on the gravel. We offer a port-o-potty and an outdoor sink and countertop area but not a shower. During the summer, Fort Macon State Park offers indoor showers for a small fee. If you'd prefer campsite #1 (to the left of the palm tree near the outdoor sink) where you can pitch your tent on the grassy strip, please see our other listing: www.vrbo.com/3331378.
--PARKING--
Our RV site recommended max length is 50 ft. This includes your rig and your tow vehicle. If you need parking for a second vehicle or if you are bringing your boat and need parking for your boat/boat trailer, one additional parking space can be made available for $25. Space is limited. Upon booking, please let us know if this is something that you will need.
--AMENITIES--
The campsites are located in Morehead City next to our home on about a third of an acre. The entire space is fenced-in. We have an outdoor fire pit, charcoal grill, two picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, hammock, wooden bench swing, fishing kayaks, and an outdoor sink and countertop area. There is firewood onsite for purchase (honor system).
--GUEST ACCESS--
The entrance/exit to the campsites, all amenities, and community space are all within the fenced-in space. These amenities and grounds are also shared with any guests who may be vacationing at the Coastal Cozy Camper (www.vrbo.com/3256150), which is also alongside our home and opens up onto this fenced-in area.
--PET POLICY--
Certain pet breeds are restricted. Message host for specifics. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pet.
--WIFI--
We are a small, family-owned operation. At the current moment, we are not offering wifi.
--COMMUNICATION--
Your CAREFREE beach vacation is our TOP PRIORITY! If for any reason you need anything during your stay, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are local, professional hosts, and we want you to love this space and this area as much as we do!
--KAYAKS--
The two fishing kayaks are complimentary and included in your stay at the Coastal Tiki Hideaway. The kayak racks are located on the fence at the front of the property. There’s a life jacket and a whistle with each kayak, as you will need to have those on board per Coast Guard regulations.
With the Crystal Coast having so many waterways and water access points, there really are several different places to launch your kayak throughout the area, so it's easy to have a unique experience with each new adventure! The two kayak launches that we recommend are the Beaufort waterfront and the Morehead City waterfront.
The kayak launch on the Beaufort waterfront is near the corner of Front St and Pollock St at Grayden Paul Park. It is near all the ferry ticket booths and docks. The launch is a sandy strip of land, where you can easily get into the water and then paddle around Taylor’s Creek and enjoy Carrot Island. If you get lucky, you might see the wild horses on Carrot Island!
At the Morehead City waterfront, there is a local kayak company at Jaycee Park by the transient docks, and they put their kayaks in the water there. I would instead recommend going to the Morehead City waterfront at 10th St where there is a little beach, boat ramp, dock, small fishing pier, and kayak launch. This is just a block over from Jaycee Park where the other kayak company is located. From here, you can paddle over to Sugarloaf Island and enjoy the beaches on the island.
Keep in mind that our amenities and grounds are shared with any guests vacationing at the Coastal Tiki Hideaway and the Coastal Cozy Camper, and there is not a reservation process for the kayaks. It is first come, first served. Also transportation of the kayaks to and from your destination is the responsibility of each of our guests, but feel free to message us with any questions or for any tips as you are planning your kayak trip.
