Positive: Location was great. Short walk to the Louvre and other attractions and in a lively area with lots of Japanese restaurants. Great to have AC. Host was friendly, communicative and helpful and tried to sort out a small problem we had. The kitchenette had plenty of equipment. Top floor (so no noise from above). Seemed to be well soundproofed (heard very little noise once in the apartment despite being in a lively city-centre area and some work being done on another apartment in the building).
Negative: The apartment would no doubt suit many travellers but wasn't right for us. You really have to get on your hands and knees to get up to the mezzanine, where the "bed" is a mattress on the floor which you have to climb into (there wouldn't be room for anything higher). So, if you've any sort of reduced mobility or are just getting on a bit, this isn't really an option. The walls are all painted dark green and, while there are quite a few spotlights around the place, and two windows (one a skylight) - it is very dark. We knew there wasn't a lift to the apartment so that was fine (although it felt like a lot of steps, especially with the cases!) but with all the 10 star reviews, we probably had too high expectations of the apartment itself.
