Chalet Sequoia underwent a full interior renovation in 2024 and the minute you step inside you'll enjoy the bright open concept space with vaulted knotty pine ceilings and a wall of view windows. On the main level you'll find our European chalet kitchen, dining area and living area with a spacious sectional. There's also a newly added bedroom with a queen size bed and a full bath.
Our modern fully stocked kitchen offers the perfect setup to cook a delicious meal. There’s a gas range (with downdraft venting), electric oven, and dishwasher available to make cooking and clean up a breeze (note, no microwave but oven has a reheat setting). Essentials such as salt, pepper, vinegar, olive oil and basic spices are provided. Coffee lovers will find a drip coffee maker and pour over to get their mornings started (ground coffee and half & half singles provided by host). There's also a selection of teas available. There's a waffle maker and skillet because pancakes and waffles just taste better in the mountains.
Put on a record and cozy up on the comfortable sectional taking in the views through the giant picture windows.
Intentionally, there’s no TV in the cabin offering a space to truly unplug and recharge. However, you may bring your own streaming device and connect it to our Starlink WIFi.
A shower, freestanding tub and modern floating vanity invite you to relax in our chalet chic bathroom with complimentary shower essentials.
Upstairs is a large open concept loft overlooking the living area downstairs and the windows offer beautiful forest views. There's a King bed, a small reading area, desk and record player. Please note in regards to privacy, the loft is not a closed off bedroom.

A few things to note:
- Our cabin is located in the charming mountain community of Ponderosa (not Springville as indicated in the address) within the Sequoia National MONUMENT, not the National Park!
- The location is quite remote and it is a very windy 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours drive from the bottom of the hill until you reach the destination at 7200 ft elevation (be prepared for motion and high altitude sickness).
- There's no cell service but we have Starlink high speed WIFI
- There are NO gas stations, plan to fill up your car in either Springville or Kernville before heading up the mountain
- There are NO grocery stores, please come prepared
- There is NO trash service. All guests will have to take their trash with them or to the transfer station close to Camp Nelson. NEVER leave trash outside or in your car, it will attract bears
- Due to our steep driveway, an all wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended
- Snow chains and all wheel drive vehicle is REQUIRED during stays in the wintertime
