Casa Del Rio is a 4 BR, 3 BA, 8 person max, pet-friendly getaway located directly on the Arkansas River, just upstream of Fisherman‘s Bridge, between the Milk Run and Brown’s Canyon. 5 minutes north to Buena Vista, 20 minutes south to Salida, walk across the street to River Runners (seasonal) for rafting, live music, margaritas, and amazing fish tacos.
10 minutes west to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. Want to hit the slopes? Monarch is 35 minutes south or Ski Cooper is an hour north.
Newly updated and meticulously maintained with your own private boat ramp! This home is elegant, comfortable, and the perfect place to get away...with large windows, high ceilings and alluring finishes. While staying here you can toss in your fishing line, launch your raft, kayak, SUP, or duckie, gather at the fire pit next to the river, or simply lounge in the hot tub (seats 4-6) or dry sauna (seats 2). The stargazing is not to be missed!
This property is the embodiment of a riverfront home and can be enjoyed by all!! Gorgeous mountain and river views from all bedrooms.
Main (upper) level:
Large & fully equipped eat-in kitchen (brand new appliances) with bar seating and breakfast table; opening to the living room and full dining room with plenty of space for all. Cozy up to the fireplace in the living room or watch the 80” smart TV. Sonos sound system can play in most rooms. Each bedroom has its own door outside to 360 degree second floor deck, which can be gated to keep dogs/children from leaving the porch. The porch overlooking the river has a gas grill, outdoor dining set, and outdoor sofa/lounge area with a chair swing. Additionally, the main floor has:
- 1 large master suite that includes a king bed, TV, desk, dual sinks, & private bath with a huge walk-in shower for two with dual shower heads. It also includes a Toto toilet with bidet.
- 2 additional bedrooms with queen beds and plenty of closet space.
- 1 full bathroom with bathtub. Located right outside of the 2 bedrooms for your convenience.
- Laundry room
Lower level (downstairs)-
- Fourth bedroom has 2 twin bunks, 1 hanging twin bed and sofa. Also has some games and table and chairs. Perfect for a family with several kids to sleep together, or put all the kids down here and let the grownups enjoy some peace and quiet.
- Full bathroom with two-person dry sauna. Can be accessed from the wet bar area, bedroom, or backyard.
- Wet bar area has comfortable seating and a garage door that you can choose to have open or closed to enjoy the river views (perfect for summer or winter views!).
- Movie theater room. Hang out with everyone and enjoy a movie or watch your favorite team on this 120” screen with an incredible sound system.
Please note we also have a booster seat,
1 pack and play and one full-size crib.
Paradise - oh the back yard! Private boat ramp!! So many places to relax and enjoy. Sit near the river and read a book, hang in the hammocks for a little nap, soak in the hot tub overlooking the river, or cozy up near the fire pit and roast some marshmallows. Kids ground area with pay set and sand.
DO NOT leave children unattended in the backyard. There are no barriers or fencing to avoid any accidental falls into the Arkansas river. PFDs are strongly recommended for anyone (people or pets) entering the river. The river runs fast, especially during spring run off. The boat ramp leads into a small eddy, but otherwise the river flows quickly past the property.
River access and parking-
There is plenty of parking for you and your guests. (4 vehicles)
You will have access to the south garage bay to store anything you may need (or park a compact car/Jeep).
This part of the Arkansas river is what is called “milk run” and is usually very mild both upstream and downstream. For beginners, the milk run is ideal with a put in north at Johnson’s Village, giving a 1.5-2 hour leisurely float. Rafts can be rented in Buena Vista or Johnson’s Village (seasonal).
Another fun run...launch from the property and raft south to Ruby Mountain campground.
(an easy 1 hour or less trip).
For more serious white water fun, River Runners (seasonal) is located across the street. They will provide rafts with guides for half day and full day trips into the breathtaking vistas of Brown’s Canyon National Monument and further south to the cute little town of Salida. If you want to book with River Runners inquire about a discount.
