Immaculate 4 season home on the lakefront of Island Pond. This 3 bedroom house with lake views, is the perfect vacation rental for snowmobilers, bikers, atvs, boaters or just someone looking to relax . The 1st floor master has a queen size bed and two upstairs bedrooms each have full size beds. Full kitchen and two bathrooms. House has a beautiful 4 season sun room overlooking the gorgeous lake front. Right off the VAST trail and only steps away from the boat launch. Downtown is 2 miles away where there are shops, dining, fuel and great summer concerts. Kingdom trails is about a 20 minute drive and Jay Peak is about a 50 minute drive.

Summary: The house is in an excellent location and is clean and smells great. We did have a bit of a hiccup as we wanted to use our boat while there and did not realize until after that the owners keep their boat on the dock. They were really great about it though and moved their boat for the weekend we were there which was great. They were very responsive when messaging as well which was nice. The only thing we did not like is that we never really felt like we could be comfortable. We have rented other properties like VRBO before and it was sort of like renting a hotel the only difference was that you needed to put the dishes in the dish washer. This house although country decorated and clean had a lot of personal items present so it was more like staying at a family members house rather than a rental property. We did not care for this. There was food in the fridge and personal items in the bathrooms. It was not a good feeling. For those of you who don’t mind this sort of thing I am sure it would be great. For us it was extremely uncomfortable. We also felt that given the cleaning fee that was assessed we should not be expected to leave the property as we found it. There was more than one note regarding this. If I am on vacation the last thing I want to do is have to clean a place before I leave. To clarify I do not mind putting any dirty dishes in the dishwasher and I would not mind putting a load of towels in the washing machine, but I definitely do not want to have to wait for any of these to complete their cycle so I can put them away. Because of the fact that we were local we ended up showering at our apartment so we did not use the towels and in the end vacated the house a night early. It is unfortunate that we did not feel comfortable using the property given the price per night plus the cleaning fees etc. Being right on the lake is very nice. It is pretty shallow on this part of the lake but it is really lovely to sit and have a fire. Bring bug spray though as the mosquitoes are horrible.
